Reading Time: 2 minutes

The results of the primaries on Tuesday are a developing story.  This story will continue to review the NRCC’s take on the results.  There is no organization watching the GOP primaries closer than the National Republican Congressional Committee.  Tonight was a big one for them and they are weighing in on several races.

NRCC Spokesman Chris Martin released the following statement to USA Daily Chronicles on Talley Sergent becoming the Democrat nominee in WV-02:

“Tonight was a clear victory for Republicans. Talley Sergent served as Hillary Clinton’s West Virginia campaign manager and wants to repeal the GOP’s middle-class tax cuts. West Virginians won’t allow her to become another rubber stamp for Nancy Pelosi in Congress.”

National Republican Congressional Committee Spokesman Chris Martin issued the following statement on Anthony Gonzalez’s primary victory in Ohio’s 16th Congressional District:

“Congratulations to Anthony Gonzalez on his victory this evening. After Anthony’s family escaped communist Cuba, he achieved the American dream by getting an education and helping build his family’s steel business. Anthony proudly represented Ohio State on the football field, and now he will represent northeast Ohio in Congress.”

NRCC Chairman Steve Stivers released the following statement regarding Troy Balderson’s victory in the OH-12 Republican primary election:

“Congratulations to Troy Balderson on his victory this evening. Troy has worked tirelessly to cut taxes and create jobs in the State Senate, and he will continue that important work on behalf of Ohio’s 12th District in Congress,” said NRCC Chairman Steve Stivers.

“There will be a very clear contrast between Troy and liberal Danny O’Connor in the months ahead. I look forward to working with Troy to keep this seat red in August.”

NRCC Chairman Steve Stivers released the following statement regarding the NC-09 Republican primary election:

“I congratulate Mark Harris on his primary election victory tonight. His conservative values and his strong faith make him a great fit for this district. He has my support and I look forward to working with him to ensure we keep the district red in November,” said NRCC Chairman Steve Stivers.

“I also thank Congressman Robert Pittenger for his tireless advocacy on behalf of North Carolina’s 9th district. I wish him and his family the best of luck in their future endeavors.”
