Inheritance, the Value of Death

The James Gebhardt Commentaries

It is much more important in life, what we choose to inherit, than what we get to inherit.
As you count your blessings for your life, so does the taxman count the blessings of your wealth. Plan carefully before you tread upon the river Styx. You begin with nothing and end with nothing. Yet the spaces in between hold many treasures worth finding and sharing.

An inheritance may contain cash, investments such as stocks or bonds, and other assets such as jewelry, automobiles, art, antiques, memories and real estate.
How long does the average inheritance last? A year or less.
What percentages of people lose their inheritance?
After 2 to 3 generations, 70% to 90% loss.

If you could only have 1, president Lincolns hat or his “Gettysburg Address” speech, which is worth more?

If you could only have 1, MLKs Nobel Prize or his “I have a dream” recording, which inspires you more?

If you could see the “The shroud of Turin” or read the words from the “Sermon on the mount”, which one fills the soul?

If you could see and hear into the life, of a loved one’s memories, henceforth now or departed, is your time being well spent gathering those memories for a truly rich inheritance?
